Doing It Right the Second Time

_Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet_.png

What would the world look like if all you ever got was one chance?

What if there were no second edition books? Or third? Or ninth?

What if Windows had stopped at 1.0?

Or iPhones were still on version 1 of the operating system?

I’m not sure that you understand the importance of putting less-than-perfect whatever-it-is-you-make out there, into the universe, to help someone.

It is more important that you get your stuff out there than it is for it to be perfect. Nothing in business is ever perfect 100% of the time. Remember that Starbucks cup in the Game of Thrones scene? Or the entire Star Wars prequel series? Hello? Jar Jar Binks, anyone?

If you do not ever want to fail, then don’t go into business. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Failure walks hand in hand with success. It’s not a fork in the road. It IS THE ROAD.

So maybe you didn’t sell anything the last time you had a special, or attended a show, or hosted a pop up shop.

Try version 2.0. Tweak your marketing. Expand your email list. Eyeball your analytics. Research your target market.

And then try again tomorrow.

Because if you’re not failing regularly, you’re not trying hard enough.
